Set-up row (WS) [K2, p1, k1, p5, k1, p1] to last 2, k2.

Begin Back chart. Work Rows 1–10, then work Rows 1–5. Next row (WS) Work in pattern, decreasing 10 (11, 22, 23) evenly across — 92 (102, 112, 122) stitches. Change to stockinette and work even until piece measures 14 (14.5, 15, 15.5)", end with a WS row.

Shape armholes

Bind off 8 (10, 10, 12) at beginning of next 2 rows. Dec 1 each side every RS row 4 (5, 7, 8) times — 68 (72, 78, 82) stitches. Work even until armhole measures 7 (7.5, 8, 8.5)", end with a WS row. Place stitches on hold.

Pocket linings MAKE 2

With A, cast on 24. Work in stockinette for 1.5", end with a WS row. Next row (RS) Dec 1 each side — 22 stitches. Work even until piece measures 2.5", end with a WS row. Next row (RS) Dec 1 each side — 20 stitches. Work even until piece measures 3". Place stitches on hold.

Left Front

With A, cast on 52 (57, 68, 74). Knit 2 rows.

Sizes S and 1X only

Set-up row (WS) K2, [p1, k1, p5, k1, p1, k2] to last 6, p1, k1, p2, k2.

Sizes M and L only

Set-up row (WS) K2, [p1, k1, p5, k1, p1, k2] to end.

All sizes

Begin working from Left Front chart Work Rows 1–10, then work Rows 1–5. Next row (WS) Work Row 6 of chart over first 13 stitches, place marker (pm), work in pattern to end, decreasing 3 (4, 9, 9) evenly across — 49 (53, 59, 65) stitches. Next row (RS) Knit to marker, work in pattern to end. Work even in stockinette and chart pattern until piece measures 6", end with a WS row.

Insert pocket

Next row (RS) K8 (10, 13, 16), knit next 20 stitches and place on hold, knit to end. Next row (WS) Work to holder, purl across stitches from pocket lining holder, purl to end. Work even until piece measures same length as back to armhole.

Shape armhole

Shape armhole at beginning of RS rows as for Back — 37 (38, 42, 45) stitches. Work even until piece measures 18.5 (19.5, 19.5, 20.5)", end with a WS row. Next row (RS) Knit.

Shape front neck

At beginning of WS rows, bind off 10 (10, 11, 12) once, then 4 (3, 4, 5) once. Dec 1 at end of every RS row 3 (3, 3, 4) times — 20 (22, 24, 24) stitches. Work even until armhole measures 9 (9.5, 10, 10.5)", end with a WS row. Place stitches on hold.

Right Front

With A, cast on 52 (57, 68, 74). Knit 2 rows.

Set-up row (WS) [K2, p1, k1, p5, k1, p1] to last 2, k2.

Begin Right Front chart Work Rows 1–10, then work Rows 1–5. Next row (WS) Work first 39 (44, 55, 61) stitches in pattern, decreasing 3 (4, 9, 9) evenly across, pm, work Row 6 of chart to end — 49 (53, 59, 65) stitches. Next row (RS) Work in pattern to marker, knit to end. Work even in stockinette and chart pattern until piece measures 6", end with a WS row.

Insert pocket

Next row (RS) Work pattern to marker, k8 (10, 13, 16), k20 and place those 20 stitches on hold, knit to end. Next row (WS) Work to holder, purl across stitches from pocket lining holder, purl to end. Continue as for Left Front EXCEPT reverse shaping. Bind off for armhole at beginning of WS row and decrease at end of RS row. Shape neck at beginning of RS rows.

Sleeves

With A, cast on 57 (57, 68, 68). Knit 2 rows. Set-up row (WS) [K2, p1, k1, p5, k1, p1] to last 2, k2. Begin Sleeve chart Work Rows 1–10, then work Row 1. Next row (WS) Work in pattern, decreasing 5 (5, 12, 10) evenly across — 52 (52, 56, 58) stitches. Change to stockinette and work 3 rows even. [Inc 1 each side next row, work 9 (7, 5, 5) rows] 10 (12, 14, 15) times — 72 (76, 84, 88) stitches. Work even until piece measures 17 (17, 17.5, 18)", end with a WS row.

Shape cap

Bind off 8 (10, 10, 12) at beginning of next 2 rows. Dec 1 each side every RS row 17 (13, 15, 11) times, then [Dec 1 each side next RS row, work 3 rows] 1 (4, 4, 6) times. Bind off remaining 20 (22, 26, 30) stitches.

Finishing

Pockets: With RS facing, join B to held stitches of pocket. Knit 2 rows. Work 2-stitch I-cord bind-off. Sew pocket linings to WS of fronts.

Block pieces. With RS together, join shoulders using 3-needle bind-off as follows: join 20 (22, 24, 24) stitches of first shoulder; bind off Back neck stitches until 20 (22, 24, 24) stitches remain; join second shoulder.

Front and neck edging: With RS facing, using crochet hook and A, sc in lower Right Front corner, ch 4. Remove hook, allowing chain to hang in front. With B, sc in second row from corner, ch 4. Remove hook, allowing chain to hang in front. [Replace color A chain on hook, bring over color B chain, sc 2 rows above last sc, ch 4, remove hook. Replace color B chain on hook, bring over color A chain, sc 2 rows above last sc, ch 4, remove hook] up Right Front, around neck edge working sc 2 stitches apart, and down Left Front, ending with sc in lower Left Front corner. Fasten off. Set in sleeves, placing center of sleeve cap 1" in front of shoulder seam. Sew side and sleeve seams.
