INSTRUCTIONS (make 2)
1. With A (multi-color yarn) and the size 7 needles, cast on 40 sts. Work in a ribbing (K1, P1) for 3" (7.62 cm). Cut A and attach B (yellow yarn).
2. With B (yellow yarn) and size 7 needles, work in stockinette stitch (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) for 3" (7.62 cm). Cut B and attach C (green yarn).
3. Change to size 8 needles and work in stockinette stitch for 3" (7.62 cm) with C. Cut C (green yarn) and attach D (red yarn). Work in stockinette stitch for 2" (5.08 cm) with D (red yarn).
4. Change to size 10 needles and work 1" (2.54 cm) more in stockinette stitch with D (red yarn). Cut D (red yarn) and attach A (multi-color yarn). Knit 3" (7.62 cm) in stockinette stitch with A (multi-color yarn). Cut A (multi-color yarn) and attach B (yellow yarn). Knit 2" (5.08 cm) in stockinette stitch with B (yellow yarn).
5. Change to size 10 1/2 needles and work 1" (2.54 cm) more in stockinette stitch with B (yellow yarn). Cut B (yellow yarn) and attach C (green yarn). Work 3" (7.62 cm) in stockinette stitch with C (green yarn). Cut C (green yarn) and attach D (red yarn).
6. With D (red yarn) and 10 1/2 needles, work in a ribbing (K1, P1) for 3" (7.62 cm). Finish off very loosely in ribbing. Sew the side seam neatly. Weave in all ends.
