MATERIALS – Fingering Yarn Weight

SPINNERIN Cashmere Plus (20-gr) 11(11-12) 700 White, 2 705 Camel CC

OR Baby and Fingering (1-oz) 6(6-7) MC. 1 CC

NEEDLES: “Boye or Diana” No. 2 and No. 3 OR SIZE TO GIVE GAUGE

GAUGE: 7 sts = 1 inch 10 rows = 1 inch

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS (in inches) Bust 32(35.38-41)

NOTE: For Front only, have ready 1 bobbin MC and 2 bob­bins CC. Twist yarns when changing colors to prevent holes.

BACK: With smaller needles and MC, cast on 113(123-133-143) sts.

Row 1 (wrong side): P 1, • K 1, P 1; rep from • to end. Row 2: K 1, • P 1. K 1; rep from • to end.

Rep these 2 rows for rib pat for 3 inches.

Change to larger needles and St St and work to 12 inches from beg or desired length to underarm, end ready for a right side row.

Armholes: Bind off 7(8-9-9) sts at beg of next 2 rows. 99(107-115-125) sts.

Row 3: K 2, K 2 tog. K to last 4 sts, sl 1, K 1, psso, K 2.

Row 4: Purl.

Rep these last 2 rows 5(6.7-9) times more. 87(93-99-105) sts. Work even until armholes measure 71/2(8-8-81/2 ) in­ches, end ready for a right side row.

Shoulders: Bind off 8(8-9-9) sts at beg of next 4(2-4-2) rows then bind off 9(9-10-10) sts at beg of next 2(4-2-4) rows. SI remaining 37(41.43-47) sts to a needle for back of neck.

FRONT: Work same as Back until 6 inches from beg, end ready for a right side row. Beg Pat.

Row 1: With MC K 24(28-31-34), with CC bobbin com­plete row.

Row 2: P, working in colors as established. Rep Rows 1 and 2, 4 times more.

Row 11: With MC K 24(28-31-34), with CC bobbin K 7, with MC bobbin complete row.

Row 12: Rep Row 2.

Rep Rows 11 and 12, 4 times more.

Row 21: With MC K 24(28-31.34), with CC bobbin K 7, with next MC bobbin K 7, with next CC bobbin complete row.

Row 22: Rep Row 2.

Rep Rows 21 and 22, 4 times more.

Row 31: With MC K 24(28-31-34), with CC bobbin K 7, with next MC bobbin K 7, with next CC bobbin K 7, join a 2nd ball MC, complete row.

Row 32: Rep Row 2.

Rep Rows 31 and 32 for rest of piece.

Working armhole shaping same as on Back continue in pat until armholes measure 5’h (6-6-65) inches, end ready for a right side row. 87(93.99105) sts.

Neck: In pat, work 32(33-35-36) sts. With MC, bind off center 23(27.29-33) sts, complete row, Working both sides at once dec 1 st at neck edge every row 7 times. Work even on 25(26-28-29) sts until armholes measure same as Back to shoulders. Shape shoulders as on Back.

SLEEVES: With smaller needles and MC, cast on 53(59-61.65) sts. Work in K 1, P 1 rib as on back for 3 in• ches inc 4 sts evenly across last row 57163.65-69) sts. Change to larger needles and St St. Work 1’4 inches, inc 1 st each side of next row then every 1’A inches 9 times more. 77(83-85-89) sts. Work even to 17 inches or desired length to underarm, end ready for a right side row.

Cap: Bind off 7(8-9-9) sts at beg of next 2 rows. 63(67-67-71) sts. Rep back armhole shaping, dec 1 st each side every 4th row 6(7-7-8) times, every 2nd row 13(14-14-15) times. Bind off 25 sts.

FINISHING: Sew left shoulder seam.

Neckband: From right side with smaller needles, pick up 11 7( 125-129-135) sts evenly rnd neck including sts on back holder. Work in K 1, P 1 rib for 1 inch. Bind off loosely in rib. Sew right shoulder seam. Sew neckband tog. Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
